The Longest Ride

I wanted to read this book before the movie came out.

The Longest Ride by Nicholas Sparks

4/5 stars

I have so many mixed feelings about this whole book. It was one of those books where the chapters went from being about one character to the next as the book progressed. Make sense? So from Ira, to Luke, to Sophia, and then it just repeats until the end of the book.

I loved Ira and Ruth’s love story so much. It just took freakin’ forever to get through the whole thing, and I honestly kept skipping through most of Ira’s chapters because I’d be super bored πŸ˜›

I was more excited about Luke and Sophia’s love story, honestly. The Sophia chapters were my favorite because they were relatable. The Luke chapters were interesting because it was in his point of view, but the riding bored me a lot.

I love love love when the big connection was finally made. I was waiting for it the whole book! Lol I’m sad Ira’s gone, but I LOVE his final plans for the auction. Best freakin’ instructions for an auction of his collection, ever! Haha I’m also so glad Luke and Sophia ended up with one another. I am surprised he proposed so soon. The epilogue seemed a bit cheesy and quick, but I get it.

Good book overall. I recommend it if you’ve liked Sparks’ other books. I’m not sure how much I’ll like the movie version of this book, but the book was interesting enough. I wouldn’t read it again because it just took me ages to actually finish reading it πŸ˜›
