Have you heard about the free fitness classes at Athleta Studio, or have you been living under a rock? 😉
Every time I talk to someone who doesn’t know about them, they’re amazed after I tell them!
So just go online to find your nearest Athleta store and see if they have any classes that interest you.
Let me tell you a little about the classes I’ve taken at the Athleta I go to.
Each store may operate differently on how to sign up for the free classes, but the one I go to (Flatiron) has a MindBodyOnline site where you make an account and just sign up for the class you wanna take.
Some classes are taught by Athleta ambassadors and others are taught by instructors from different fitness studios throughout the city.
The types of classes range from: dance, to yoga to meditation and barre, Pilates, Zumba, PiYo, Turbo Kick…the list continues! *But this will really differ depending on your Athleta.
I’ve met awesome instructors and students this way.
& Yes, the classes really are free!
The only thing is, because they’re free, some classes fill up FAST. & Some are just super PACKED! So if you don’t like exercising super close to someone else, this maaaaay not be for you. But hey, it’s free, so what do you expect?
I love these classes because I get to discover what I like and what I don’t like.
OK, confession time: I walked out of a dance class here because I just wasn’t feelin’ it. I felt so bad but, you know what? if I stayed, I wouldn’t have enjoyed it at all! (I left not even 20 minutes in!) And I didn’t leave because of the instructor or because of how packed it was (because it was packed!) The instructor was so cool and so good and what she did! I left because dance fitness is a “sometimes” thing for me. If it’s Hip-Hop, count me in! But this was more along the lines of ballet and I was not having it at all. So lesson learned. Try new things, but if you don’t like it, that’s OK! *I just hope the instructor wasn’t offended that I left so soon because I still feel bad about doing that.
Athleta Flatiron partnered with YG Studios and I got to take free classes with my fav Vinyasa Flow instructor, Alexa Ibarra! ❤ This talented yogi teaches you correct form and you will definitely have fun in her classes.
I also got to meet Jessica Bailey-Bartini of Sassy Girl Fitness in person after following her on Instagram 😉
I took my first ever barre fitness class with her and now I can’t stop!
& Now, there’s a Studio rewards card at Athleta Flatiron (not sure about the other locations). You’ll get a punch on the card for every class you take at their studio. Once your card is filled up, you enter it into a monthly drawing to win an outfit from the brand. How amazing!
Basically, I think you should check out the classes at Athleta because it’s how I discovered instructors and fitness studios all over the city.
Thanks, Athleta Studio!
PS, the employees at Athleta Flatiron are phenomenal! ❤
