Today is International Women’s Day. It’s also Day Without A Woman. Whether you’re going on strike or not, you can take a stand. It’s not just today, it’s every day. We as humans can do so much better for this world. We need to.
We rise up
For anyone who has shamed you for being smart: We rise up.
For anyone who has ever said “you run like a girl” or “you throw like a girl,” thank them because girls can too.
For anyone who has ever told you you’re not man enough, tell them you’re not. You’re woman enough. That’s more than enough.
For anyone who has ever made you feel inadequate because you are a woman: We rise up.
For anyone who has thought of you as an underdog because of your gender, prove them wrong.
For anyone who has ever made you feel small, show them how big you can be.
For anyone who knows the feeling of how being a woman can sometimes hold them back: We rise up.
For anyone who has ever challenged your worth, know that you are worth more than they or you will ever realize.
For the times you feel bad for being “overly emotional,” don’t. Stop feeing bad for being here, for being human.
For all the women young and old around the world: We rise up.
