5 Bedtime habits for better skin

Almost everyone was born with soft and supple skin, but over the years, our skin goes through many changes.

Some people win the gene lottery and are blessed with perfectly clear skin, but many others with clear skin work hard for it. Here’s how to start achieving flawless skin:

1. Β Sleep barefaced
Go to anyone with soft and supple skin and ask them what their secret is, and the first thing they might tell you is that they never wear their daytime products to bed.

These people usually follow a cleansing routine where they use a makeup remover to remove makeup, sunscreen and anything else they have worn throughout the day. Then they wash their face and sleep.

The biggest issue with makeup removal is the eye area; most women recommend that you invest in a separate eye-makeup remover that can easily remove that waterproof mascara without making you rub and tug too much.

2. Use overnight products
An exception to sleeping barefaced is using overnight products. Try to use natural and organic products and look for ingredients that are beneficial to the skin. For example, salicylic acid is an essential item found in any good mask for acne.

Try using eye creams or home remedies like cucumber pulp to prevent dark circles.

Remember that you skin needs to breathe, so try to sleep without overnight products a couple of times a week.

3. Exfoliate weekly
Almost everyone with lovely skin will swear by exfoliation. Exfoliation is the removal of dead skin cells using a scrub or an exfoliating cream.

Some people also use exfoliating razors to achieve the smooth and silky skin they flaunt.

Exfoliating every day can be harsh for your skin and make it sensitive, so try keeping your exfoliation sessions limited to once or twice a week.

4. Go natural
Use natural and organic products; you will have to spend extra money and you will have to use them carefully.

Many products contain chemicals which can be harmful for sensitive skin and can cause acne.

If you find buying high-end organic products is too much, you can easily go natural by using home remedies to clear your skin. Home remedies using fruits and vegetables can easily be found on the internet.

5. Sleep in a clean environment
You must always sleep in a clean way and make sure no dirt comes in contact with your face.

Some precautions you can take to make sure your face does not get dirty overnight include sleeping on a clean and fresh pillowcase.

Another thing you can do is sleep with your hair pinned back so that the oils in your hair do not touch your face and clog your pores.
